RARE ORIGINAL LARGE LOCOMOTIVE EAGLE PRESENTED TO A G.I. IN 1945
FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE FOR AUTHENTICITY
Genuine and well-preserved alloy made Reichsbahn locomotive/wagon eagle. Shows sharp details and has a very nice patina on the front. The back still has its smooth aluminum look and shows three studs from ripping it of a train wagon. It is maker marked by APAG, which is a less encountered manufacturer for these beautiful eagles. Furthermore, it is also marked on the reverse with GAL-Mg-Si and a bit lower with BZA 7 – BLN (I deem). Height: 34.7 cm, Width: 63.2 cm, Weight 1,184 grams. The eagle is mounted on a period presentation plaque, something that was often done within the United States Army (see pictures from a railroad book). The eagle was captured in Kassel in 1945 and presented to Mr. G. Blyberg. Rarely encountered railroad eagle – with souvenir/presentation plaque, a must have as centerpiece for any WW2 collection!
