- Textbook salty Steel SS buckle stamped lowercase letters visible right below the catch loop read “rodo”. This stands for the manufacturing firm Robert Dold of Offenburg. Has normal field wear to high points on front. Solid buckle with not repairs or issues.
- RoDo buckles are highly sought after by militaria collectors. Unlike most other wartime makers who used silver-grey finishes, Dold was unique for producing steel buckles factory-painted in a distinctive dark field-gray/green protective coat. Unfortunately, this one was not stored properly with the surface rust present. We have not attempted to clean it or mess with it in any way. Was purchased with the other buckles we just listed.
