Offered for sale is
UNIQUE ORIGINAL PRISONER OF WAR POSTCARD, WRITTEN BY
HERMANN GÖRING
TO HIS DAUGHTER EDDA
SELLER GIVES FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE FOR AUTHENTICITY
Hermann Göring was the most senior Nazi official tried at the Nürnberg (Nuremberg) Trials by the International Military Tribunal from November 1945 to October 1946. Found guilty on all four counts of conspiracy, crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, he was sentenced to death by hanging and died by suicide via smuggled cyanide hours before his execution.
Offered here is an original Prisoner of War Postcard which Göring wrote to his daughter Edda. The address must have been written by one of the guards because Ősterreich, the German name for Austria, is misspelled and Göring’s name is spelled with ‘oe’ instead of the Umlaut ‘ö’. The address must have been incorrect because the postcard was sent back, bearing the stamp ‘ZURÜCK’ which means returned.
Here is what he wrote to his daughter, followed by the English translation:
My sweet little sparrow (darling)! I am always thinking of you and Mama with such longing. How are you? Always be Mama’s great joy and comfort. I am sure you will do well in your studies, too. I hope you still have that nice ??? (illegible word) with you. Do you think of me often, too? May God protect you, my dearest child! Papa is so sad not to be able to be with you. Give Mama a kiss; sending you all my love, your Papa.
The seller gives a full money back guarantee for the authenticity.
