This very interesting 6 x 8 inch document is something you don’t see every day. It is an original ‘Besucherschein‘ or visitor pass for the headquarters of the Gestapo and SD in Berlin, the feared RSHA building on Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse 8. You had to have a good reason to enter the building and on this form the visitor had to give name, purpose of the visit and the person the visitor wanted to see. The arrival day and time was documented at the bottom and also the time the visitor left. This form then had to be returned. The RSHA building on Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse 8 was one of the most feared places in all of Third Reich Germany, heavily damaged in the war the building was demolished in the 1950’s, and the grounds are today museum and place of remembrance.
