NSDAP Gauleiter of Berlin and Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels sent this official letter to the Prussian Minister President General Göring in response to a question from Göring to Dr. Goebbels regarding the cancellation of the immunity of a fellow party member. This Pg. (Parteigenosse or fellow party member) was Walther Schulze-Wechsungen, NSDAP member since 1930 and in a higher position in Dr. Goebbels’ ministry of propaganda. Parallel to that position he also had a seat in the Prussian parliament – until 28 Januray 1936 – also date of this letter, when he was accused of corruption and was fired from all his positions, his immunity was revoked and he probably lost his NSDAP membership. He died in 1944, but we don’t know what happened to him. The document is on Dr. Goebbels’ official letterhead, with embossed state eagle and bears his bold ink signature. A very interesting document, involving two of the most powerful men in the Third Reich, plus a former member of the Prussian parliament and Landespropagandaleiter.
