This unique pair consists of a 10 cm x 15 cm card in which Oscar Rothacker, representing a Berlin bookstore (located right where during the Cold War the world-famous Checkpoint Charlie stood), thanks the SS garrison physician at Weimar/Buchenwald for an order of 15 “copies.” This is accompanied by an A5-format invoice, on the back of which SS-Hauptsturmführer (and camp physician) Dr. Gerhard Schiedlausky confirms the “necessity” of the procurement, certifying it as “factually correct.” SS-Hauptsturmführer Gerhard Schiedlausky signed the document. He was executed in 1947.
