Offered for sale is a RARE ORIGINAL 1935-43 FULLY FUNCTIONAL SCHUCO WIND UP TOY, WEHRMACHT SOLDIER PLAYING THE DRUM. COMES WITH THE OFTEN MISSING ORIGINAL KEY AND BEATS THE DRUM AND ‘WALKS’ AROUND WHE NWOUND UP
This seldom seen item is a very good example of what a child in Hitler-Germany played with, like many games of that time it is related to the military, just like the rare board games that are also offered on this website. This Wehrmacht soldier who is beating the drum when wound up was manufactured between 1935 and 1943 by the well known Schuco toy company. As can be seen on the pictures, it is in amazing condition, considering that this was a toy a child would play with. Even more amazing is, that the wind up mechanism is not broke like it happens to many wind up toys if the key is turned too many times and the spring inside breaks. This guy is fully functional and 2-3 turns of the original Schuco key (in many cases missing) make him beat the drum and move around while doing it. We have a short video of the WH figure ‘in action’ but were unable to incorporate that into the description. Therefore we ask anyone who is serious about a purchase to contact us and we will be happy to send the video as an email attachment. At the bottom of this page is a picture of a recent book for collectors of Third Reich era toys where a similar toy, Hitler Youth drummer that we also offer on this website is valued at 2,500 Euro or close to $3,000 but we are pleased to announce that both, our HJ drummer as well as the Wehrmacht soldier are offered for a lot less. A very rare item in outstanding condition that will not only be an asset to every Third Reich, Hitler Youth as well as antique toy collection! Of course offered with full money back guarantee for authenticity.
