UNIQUE ORIGINAL1934 MEIN KAMPF SIGNED BY ADOLF HITLER & RUDOLF HESS
THE BOOK WAS A CHRISTMAS GIFT TO RUDOLF HESS’ SECRETARY HILDEGARD FATH
Offered for sale is this extremely rare double signed copy of Mein Kampf. The book is hand signed by Adolf Hitler as well as by his deputy, Rudolf Hess. This hand-bound linen copy has an ink dedication on the flyleaf that reads “Adolf Hitler – Berlin, 24 / Dec. 1934” and on the second page “All life is struggle – Freiburg, the brave little fighter – Christmas 1934 – Rudolf Heß”.
Hildegard Fath, known as “Freiburg”, was Rudolf Hess’s private secretary. According to an enclosed copy of a letter from 1991, “Tante Freiburg” (Aunt Freiburg) states that these kind of gifts usually were leather bound but she had it privately bound in linen by a friend ‘Grete’ who worked in Berlin for a bookbinder, to match her other books. All her other books were destroyed (probably by Allied bombing) in September of 1943 but this book, according to her 1991 letter, the most valuable possession she had, survived because she kept it in her emergency suitcase that every German had at the ready, if they had to get in the bomb shelter. She gave the book to a relative of the name ‘Buz’. Also included is a copy of a letter from Rudolf Heß, who apologized for the delay in delivery, as he had to wait for Hitler’s visit to Munich to sign the book.
Hitler signed copies of Mein Kampf are extremely sought after items. We have never seen a signed example by both Hitler and another inner circle member. This one also being signed by Hess, Hitler’s deputy and the man who helped Hitler write the book in Landsberg Prison makes the item all the more rare. This rarity comes with full money back guarantee for both of the signatures and the book itself.
