Offered for sale is a RARE ORIGINAL 1933 THIRD REICH PHOTO BOOK WITH CARICATURES OF THE CHANCELLOR OF THE GERMAN THIRD REICH “HITLER IN DER KARIKATUR DER WELT” THIS HITLER APPROVED BOOK SHOWS HOW THE WORLD PRESS SAW GERMANY’S NEW LEADER! BY ERNST HANFSTAENGL, ONE OF HITLER’S FEW EARLY FRIENDS

The 7-1/4 x 10 inch soft cover book by Ernst Hanfstaengl was published in 1933 by Verlag Braune Bücher in Berlin. This very interesting book contains anti-Hitler caricatures that were published in newspapers around the world after Hitler was appointed Reich Chancellor. Of course the Führer reviewed and approved the publication of this book, otherwise it would have been a certain ticket to the concentration camp for the author! The book was a success and in 1935 the author published volume two, entitled Tat gegen Tinte. Ernst Hanfstaengl was a German-American businessman and intimate friend and supporter of Hitler and participant of the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. He eventually fell out of favor with Hitler and defected to the United States where he later worked for President Roosevelt. After the war he returned fto Germany and died in Munich in 1975.
