This 1941 cigarette picture album is anti-British propaganda at its best, published by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst of Hamburg, Germany. The album is complete and includes all 122 cards, 24 in color, each fixed in its place in the 129 pages of text. The cards include photographs, engravings, cartoons and maps, and illustrate a history of England cast as “perfidious Albion”, the totally self-interested and amoral imperialist power. The text depicts the British Empire as growing at the expense of other indigenous peoples and the other Great Powers who were cheated and swindled by the predatory English. A particular theme is British brutality in India, including photographs of atrocities against Indians. A very interesting piece of anti-British Nazi propaganda in very good condition.
