ORIGINAL PRE-1945 590x810mm VÖLKISCHER BEOBACHTER ADVERTISING POSTER
FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE FOR AUTHENTICITY
Published/printed by the Münchener Buchgewerbehaus M. Müller & Sohn, the printing house where for example Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf‘ as well as a large number of Nazi literature was printed. This 590 x 810mm or 23-1/4 x 32 inch poster in excellent condition (only flaw are a number of punch holes along the top and bottom edge) was an advertising for the Völkischer Beobachter or VB, the newspaper of the NSDAP from 25 December 1920. It first appeared weekly, then daily from 8 February 1923. For 24 years it formed part of the official public face of the Nazi Party until its last edition at the end of April 1945. The paper was banned and ceased publication between November 1923, after Hitler’s arrest for leading the unsuccessful Beer Hall Putsch in Munich, and February 1925, the approximate date of the relaunching of the Party. In 1921, Hitler, who had taken full control of the NSDAP earlier that year, acquired all shares in the company, making him the sole owner of the publication. The poster depicts a man in civil clothes and the arm of a SA Stormtrooper with swastika armband, touching the man’s shoulder and saying to him (symbolizing every German citizen): ‘Volksgenosse, lies auch Du den Völkischen Beobachter‘ (Fellow Citizen, you too should read the Völkischer Beobachter). Impossible to find in such condition.
