Erna Lendvai-Dircksen was a well known photographer in Third Reich Germany who mainly focused on portraits of Germanic, Nordic ‘Aryan’ faces. She traveled throughout the entire German Reich, as well as to Nordic countries such as Norway and published her photographs in 7-1/2 x 10-1/4 inch, approx. 120 page, hardcover books like the one that is offered here. This book contains 87 photographs of Nordic people from the Hessen region, which is in the western part of Germany. The book was published in 1943 by Gauverlag Bayreuth and, besides some staining, is in good condition. This is a copy of the first edition, of which 6,000 copies were printed.
