RARE ORIGINAL 1933 THIRD REICH PICTURE ALBUM
DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHT / GERMANY AWAKES
A SPECTACULAR CIGARETTE PICTURE ALBUM WITH 200+ PASTED IN PHOT-LIKE PICTURES ABOUT THE
ORIGINS OF THE NAZI PARTY, THE BATTLE FOR POWER AND VICTORY
This fantastic item was published in 1933 by the Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Hamburg-Bahrenfeld, Germany. The album is complete with no pages missing and ALL pasted in pictures are there and it comes with the original, striking dust jacket as well as the fold-out picture in the back. The size is 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 inch, the cover shows a swastika and oak leaves and the head of a SA stormtrooper. The album has 152 heavy material pages with about 200 photo-like pictures pasted into the text! This is one of the copies of the first edition that originally had Ernst Röhm as head of the SA. His picture was replaced by one of Viktor Lutze who became Röhm’s successor after the ‘Night of the Long Knives’ that led to his arrest and murder.
The album depicts the rise of the National Socialist Movement from the early 1920s to the seizure of power in 1933! A highlight of this rare book is a 48 x 12 (!) inch fold-out photo showing the consecration of new Nazi flags in the “Luitpoldhain” in Nuremberg in 1933.
