ORIGINAL 1933 I.G. FARBENINDUSTRIE LABOR DAY CELEBRATION BOOKLET
‘ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DEN 1.MAI 1933’
This very interesting 8-1/2 x 6 inch, 20-page photo booklet was published in 1933 by the well-known I.G.Farben company in Frankfurt am Main to commemorate the 1933 Labor Day festivities that took place in the factory, and which must have been a big deal because a lot of Nazi officials gave speeches at this event. The IG Farben was a company with 125,000 employees in 1938 and manufactured world-famous products like Agfa color and black & white film, film cameras, Bayer medicine like Aspirin, synthetic Buna rubber, cellophane and Leuna gasoline, to name just a few. The I.G. Farben company was Adolf Hitlers pride as it demonstrated the success and power of the new Germany under the National Socialists. The I.G. Farbenindustrie became the most infamous Third Reich company worldwide because of their huge production plants in the concentration camps Auschwitz and Birkenau.
