SS-Obersturmführer Erich Kühbandner was with the 7. SS-Freiwilligen-Gebirgs-Division “Prinz Eugen” and he had a ton of awards, including the SS honor sword, the SS honor ring, wound badge in silver, close combat clasp in bronze, Iron Cross 1st class, Partisan Badge (Bandenkampf Abzeichen) in Silver, German Cross in Gold, as well as several NSDAP awards and on 15 February 1945 Heinrich Himmler personally awarded him the rare Bandenkampf Abzeichen in Gold for verified 100 combat days against partisans.
In the document, dated 22 February 1945 and addressed to the SS-Personalhauptamt in Berlin, he informs the SS office that he was awarded the Golden Partisan Badge. Kühbandner survived the war and died 1991 in Munich.
