The periodicals that are offered here were official publications of the VdA, the National Socialist organization for Germans living abroad. This organization had their headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. The periodicals, however, were published in Berlin. This heavily illustrated magazine was published in two editions, Roland was for adults while Jung – Roland (Young Roland) aimed especially at the youth. Each issue of course was crammed with Nazi propaganda, containing the latest update on what is going on in the Reich. Offered here is an interesting mix of Roland and Jung – Roland, published between 1934 and 1940.
