Very nice original document on the original stationary of the adjutant office of Chancellor Adolf Hitler in the Reichskanzlei in Berlin, dated 2 November 1943 and signed by (then) SS-Sturmbannführer Fritz Darges, at the time member of the Führerbegleitkommando and personal adjutant of the Führer Adolf Hitler. The document is addressed to SS-Brigadeführer Gille and Darges and his office congratulate Gille for having bestowed with the Oak Leaves to the Knight’s Cross. For upcoming battles at the Eastern Front Darges wishes Gille best of luck and good health. In January 1944 Darges was promoted to SS-Obersturmbannführer. In August of 1944 Darges was sent to the Eastern Front as well as commander of the 5th SS Panzer Regiment of SS Division ‘Wiking’. In January 1945 he was awarded the Knight’s Cross for his actions against the Russian forces. Nice strong signature.
