The wingspan of this rare find is 16 inches or 410mm, the height is 225mm or 9 inches. It is made out of paper-macheˊand very fragile. It is amazing that something like that could survive to this day! Nice G.I. bring back that we purchased from the estates of the veteran. The story goes this and one just like it but even larger were liberated but the larger eagle would not fit in his pack, so he neatly cut the wings off so they would fit. The other eagle (this one) he did not need to cut or fold. Looks just like metal when displayed on the wall. This one is RZM marked on back M3/74. These paper ones just simply didn’t survive the war and are rare to find in any condition. A great number of these were probably already discarded before 1945, after an event was over. The face side has some silver coating which is, for the most part, still present. The eagle shows signs of use and age but once this item is hung on the wall it will make a terrific display item. Guaranteed to be 100% original.
