The 5-1/4 x 7 inch wall calendar was published in 1943 by Kunstverlag Joh. Thordsen in Hamburg, Germany. It is complete with no pages missing and/or damaged. There is one calendar page for each month of the year 1943, each containg a very nice illustration showing the tasks of the Arbeitsmaiden throughout the year. The female members of the Third Reich Labor Service were called “Arbeitsmaiden”. An interesting fact about this calendar is, that the publishing house must have used surplus paper from previous publications because the reverse sides of each page contain pictures and information about German towns and cities which have nothing to do with the subject of this calendar. In 1943 there obviously was no longer an endless supply of paper and so the publisher used up what ever material they still had!
