Current bid: $5.95

1933 THIRD REICH PHOTO BOOK WITH CARICATURES OF THE CHANCELLOR OF THE GERMAN THIRD REICH

“HITLER IN DER KARIKATUR DER WELT”

THIS HITLER APPROVED BOOK SHOWS HOW THE WORLD PRESS SAW GERMANY’S NEW LEADER!

BY ERNST HANFSTAENGL, ONE OF HITLER’S FEW EARLY FRIENDS

The 7-1/4 x 10 inch hardcover book by Ernst Hanfstaengl was published in 1933 by Verlag Braune Bücher in Berlin. This very interesting book contains anti-Hitler caricatures that were published in newspapers around the world after Hitler was appointed Reich Chancellor. Of course, the Führer reviewed and approved the publication of this book, otherwise it would have been a certain ticket to the concentration camp for the author! The book was a success and in 1935 the author published volume two, entitled ‘Tat gegen Tinte‘. Ernst Hanfstaengl was a German American businessman and intimate friend and supporter of Hitler and participant of the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. He eventually fell out of favor with Hitler and defected to the United States where he later worked for President Roosevelt. After the war he returned to Germany and died in Munich in 1975.

The book has a few spots on the cover, otherwise excellent condition.

The second volume, entitled ‘Tat gegen Tinte‘, published in 1935 is also available on this website:
