Offered for sale is this rare original 1943 Auschwitz document, signed by SS-Obersturmführer Franz Hoessler who at this time still held the rank of SS-Ustuf. Hößler was Schutzhaftlagerführer (Protective Custody Camp Commander) at Auschwitz concentration camp where he also selected out sick inmates unable to work to be sent to the gas chambers. After Auschwitz was abandoned, he was transfered to infamous Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp and finally to Bergen-Belsen. He held the same position in these two concentration camps. He was captured in Bergen-Belsen when the camp was liberated. The British forced the SS detainees to bury the thousands of dead bodies that were laying around by the thousands in the camp. Hoessler and 44 other camp staff were tried in the Belsen Trial and Hoessler was sentenced to death by hanging. The sentence was carried out on 13 December 1945 at Hameln prison.
