RARE ORIGINAL 1942 AFRIKAKORPS DESERT FOX ERWIN ROMMEL SIGNED LETTER

Offered here is an original 1942 letter signed by the commander of the Panzerarmee Afrika or Afrikakorps, Field Marshall Erwin Rommel, also known as the ‘Wüstenfuchs’ (Desert Fox). Rommel was at the height of his fame, celebrated like a rock star in Hitler-Germany and he received a ton of fan mail from all corners of Germany, asking for an autograph. He states in this printed letter that he unfortunately is unable to respond in writing to every piece of mail that he receives and that he therefore is signing copies of this printed letter and have them mailed to those who mailed him. The letter bears Rommel’s bold signature and comes with the original envelope in which it was mailed as a field post to a Helga Giessen in Köln (Cologne). Usually, his signature is seen on postcards rather than letters.
