The 6-3/4 x 9-1/2 inch, 480(!) page hardcover book is probably the best and most comprehensive original Third Reich photo book on the German part of occupied Poland (the other part was annexed by Russia after the secret treaty between Hitler and Stalin). There are 81 photos plus several maps in this excellent book which contains all the facts the Nazis regarded important to know like the uprising of the economy since the occupation, the resettlement programme, the work of SS and Nazi Police, the fight against the Jews and “other criminal elements”, etc.!

The Preface was written by Reichsminister Dr. Frank who was put in charge of the Generalgouvernement by Hitler. Frank was one of the few Nazi leaders who were sentenced to death in the Nuremberg trial after the Third Reich had come to an end.

An entire section of this book lists ALL official NSDAP, Police, SS, etc., administrative departments in all districts of the Generalgouvernement, a #1 source for any historian! Another very interesting and anti-Semitic chapter deals about the work of SS and Nazi Police bringing back law and order into the country and how they put the “lazy Jewish scum” (direct translation of the German text) to work which, as the text states, was the first time for many Jews that they were confronted with physical work. Also includes photos from the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw. The chapter also deals about the huge resettlement programme of German farmers from Russia to the Generalgouvernement under the leadership of Himmler and his SS. Comes with its original (slightly damaged) dust jacket.
