This 8 x 11-1/2 inch, 236-page, well-illustrated hardcover book by Bruno Hans Hirche was published in 1941 by Verlag Deutscher Osten in German occupied Warsaw. The author gives a lot of information about the living conditions of the ethnic German minority in Poland prior to the ‘Blitzkrieg’ in September of 1939, how neglected the country looked like until the Germans not only brought law and order but also farming and production skills with farmers and workers who migrated to the new “Lebensraum im Osten”! There are several chapters dealing about SS men protecting the new Aryan farmers as well as antisemitic stories on Polish Jews! The book is in very good condition; the binding is tight and there are only minor signs of wear on cover and spine.
