‘NORDISCHE SCHÖNHEIT’ (NORDIC BEAUTY)
WITH 190 PHOTOS / VERY NICE CONDITION
This 6-1/4 x 9 inch, 230-page hardcover photo book was written by Paul Schultze Naumburg and published in 1937 by J.F.Lehmanns Verlag in Munich. This very interesting work is divided in ten, heavily illustrated chapters with titles such as ‘Bedeutung der Schönheit’ (Meaning of Beauty), ‘Schönheit ist rassegebunden’ (Beauty Depends on the Race), ‘Lehren an Lebenden und an der Gegenwart’ (Studies on the Living and from the Presence), ‘Das nordische Gesicht’ (the Nordic Face), ‘Der nordische Körper’ (The Nordic Body), ‘Das nordische Schönheitsbild in der Kunst’ (The Nordic Beauty in the Arts), etc.
The purpose of this rare book is explained very well by the following Adolf Hitler quotation from his book ‘Mein Kampf’ that is printed in the first chapter: ‘Auch dies ist im Interesse der Nation, dass sich die schönsten Körper finden und so mithelfen, dem Volkstum neue Schönheit zu schenken.’ (It is to the interest of the nation that the most beautiful bodies find each other and help to enhance the beauty of our people)
This seldom seen book with 190 photos is a great addition for anyone’s collection of historical Third Reich material in very good condition.
