A GREAT BOOK ON ‘DESERT FOX’ ERWIN ROMMEL’S AFRIKAKORPS
This extremely interesting original Nazi book has been recently reprinted but original Third Reich copies of this excellent book are hard to find today! The book was written by Hanns Gert Freiherr von Esebeck and it is full of excellent Afrikakorps photos, a lot of them even in full color! Most of the photos were taken by the author himself, the rest are from the Nazi war correspondents Hans Ertl and Willi Sturm.
Helden der Wüste together with Balkenkreuz über Wüstensand is definitely the best original Third Reich photo book with full color photos published before 1945! Original copies of either one of these books are on the wish list of many collectors of memorabilia of Erwin Rommels Afrikakorps!
The size of this rarity in hardcover is 6 x 8-1/2 inches with 238 pages. It is in very good condition. The book gives a lot of information about almost the entire Africa campaign from 1941 to 1943, extremely well illustrated with a lot of photos, about half of them full page photos in full color. The foreword is written by the DESERT FOX himself, Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel.
