This scarce 8-1/4 x 11-1/2 inch, 1,574 page original official telephone book of the Reichshauptstadt (Reich Capital) Berlin is THE reference for anyone who might be planning a trip to Berlin as it contains all addresses of every Nazi organization in Berlin! Even though some of the street names have changed since 1945 and some of the buildings have been destroyed or have been torn down, one can find hundreds of historic Third Reich sights in this unique book. It was published in 1941 by the German Reichspost and it was the only one that has been published until the Third Reich came to an end. It comes with the 8-1/4 x 11-1/2 inch, 154 page supplement with changes and additions which was published in March of 1943 and was the only wartime supplement of the Berlin phonebook. Original Third Reich phonebooks are hard to find today, most of them were discarded after 1945, plus there was a very harsh winter 1945/46 and many of these books ended up in somebody’s stove. The weakness of this heavy book (that was never meant to be a collector’s item) is that the spine is often broken. This copy is in remarkably nice condition, the 1943 supplement as well.
