ORIGINAL 1935 HEAVILY ILLUSTRATED OFFICIAL NSLB CALENDAR FOR PUPILS

“HIILF MIT! KALENDER 1935”

Hilf mit! (sub titled: Illustrierte Schülerzeitung) was the most important National Socialist newspaper for pupils in the Third Reich. It was not a paper by pupils for pupils but published by the Nationalsozialistischer Lehrerbund (NSLB or National Socialist Teachers Organization) and had educational and propagandistic content. It was published from October 1933 to September 1944. Until the outbreak of WWII in September 1939 it was a monthly publication but the intervals of the publication of the war issues varied. The pre-war issues had 32 pages, the war issues only 16 pages. One of the main contributors was Johann von Leers, a well known anti-Semitic author, who indoctrinated his young readers with his anti-Semitic propaganda in more than 100 articles that he wrote for ‘Hilf mit!’.

Up for auction is the official ‘Hilf Mit!’ yearbook or calendar, a 6-1/2 x 8-3/4 inch, 96-page soft cover publication in very nice condition.
