The two 7 x 9-1/2 inch, 450 and 420 page hardcover books by Sanitätsrat Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, Head of the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin were published in 1930 by Verlag für Sexualwissenschaft in Leipzig. The book set is probably the most comprehensive work about erotic and sex in World War One! The books contain hundreds of illustrations as well as very interesting chapters about everything about this subject, including chapters about female spies who worked in brothels, venereal diseases, “trench erotic”, erotic in field hospitals, female soldiers in WWI, war brothels, homosexuality in war times and much more. It even says how much the brothel charged for the ‘service’ (see one of the pictures): “Payable For Intercourse are: “In The Brothel For Enlisted Men 2 Mark (or 2.50 Francs) To The Prostitute and 1 Mark To The Lady Who Owns The Brothel – In The Brothel For Officers 4 Mark To The Prostitute and 2 Mark To The Lady Who Owns The Brothel”. Both books are in very good condition.
