This 6-1/4 x 9 inch, 250 pages hardcover book is one of the most compre-hensive original Third Reich photo books on how the Saar region became part of the German Third Reich! The Saar was under Allied control after World War One. One of Hitlers goals, already written in his political mani-fest “Mein Kampf” was that all Germans should live within the borders of one big strong and protective nation. This included Austria, the Saar, the so called “Volksdeutsche” in parts of Poland, Czech Republic, etc. – bringing the Saar back into the Reich in 1935 was the first step! Hitler achieved that the mostly German population was allowed to vote if they want to belong to France or the German Third Reich. Of course the German population wanted to be part of Germany again and the Saar was German territory again! This was Hitlers first biggest international political success and the German people believed even more in their Führer…! The book is in very good condition, the first two pages have some minor damage in one corner and the scarce original dust jacket has some flaws along the edges.
