These rare 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inch periodicals were published by the press and propaganda office of the Generalinspekteur of the German motorways system, Dr. Fritz Todt. This extremely inte-resting periodical was first published in 1939 and it came out every two months. After the start of the war against Russia the Strassenmeister’s duties changed. The original job of the Third Reich Strassenmeister was the maintenance of the Reichsauto-bahn, keeping everything in good working condition, take care of the ditches along the RAB, inspect the motorways for damages, keep the Autobahn free of ice and snow, etc. When the German Wehrmacht marched into Russia in the summer of 1941 things changed for the RAB Strassenmeister: he received training on the proper use of pistols, rifles and other weapons, he became a new (military-like) uniform and he now maintained the roads in the German occupied parts of Russia. The Strassenmeister was a member of the Organisation Todt which was in charge of the construction and maintenance of the Reichsautobahn. After the outbreak of the war the OT became an affiliated organization of the Wehrmacht. Offered are the following five issues:
