The 270mm (10-5/8 inch) tall statue is made out of fine white porcelain, the base bears the Olympic Rings, is numbered on the underneath side of the base and in his right hand the runner holds the torch that is carried into the stadium to light up the Olympic Flame. The torch of this excellent item can be lit, too! The small lid can be removed and lamp oil can be poured into his hollow arm. We did not put any oil in and we did not light up the wick. This is not the postwar reproduction that was made in former East Germany (which was also of inferior quality too and had no numbers on the bottom) but a genuine Third Reich artifact, sold as asouvenir in Hitler’s Berlin during the 1936 Olympic Games.
A fantastic souvenir from the 1936 Olympic Games, a lot less times offered than the also rare porcelain Olympic Bell!
