This set of two 7-1/2 x 10-3/4 inch hardcover books is one of the most comprehensive original Third Reich publications on the organized sports activities in the German Third Reich. It was published by order of the Reich Sports Leader by Arno Breitmeier and NSDAP member Hoffmann (Adolf Hitlers personal photographer Heinrich Hoffmann?) and printed in 1934 by the publishing house of the German Sports Aid Funds. The two books are volume one and two of a planned series of four volumes but only the first two were published. The heavily illustrated books with about 350 pasted in photo-like pictures plus several other illustrations and a fold-out photo at the end of the book are in nice condition. Described and depicted is how the National Socialists promoted the importance of physical exercise. The book gives many examples from the various Nazi organizations, i.e. SA, NSKK, BdM, HJ, etc. All the pictures are accurately pasted in and none are missing. Because of the moisture on the back of the pictures when pasting them in some of the pages are a little wavy but this is the only ‘imperfection’ of this very interesting and sought after Third Reich book set!
