In May of 1943 Kurt Meyer was transferred from the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) to the new created 12. Panzerdivision “Hitlerjugend” where he served as the commander of the SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 25. On 25 October 1943 Meyer gave out this order which he signed in ink:

Auf Anordnung des Divisionskommandeurs habe nalle neu zur Division versetzten Mannschafts-, Unterführer und Führerdienstgrade unverzüglich die Ärmelstreifen ihrer früheren Einheit abzulegen und gegen die neu auszugebenen Ärmelstreifen ‘Hitlerjugend’ auszutauschen. Diese Anordnung gilt nicht für die nur vorübergehend zur Division kommandierten Männer.

Translation:

By order of the divisional commander, all enlisted men, junior leaders, and officers newly transferred to the division must immediately remove the cuff titles of their former units and replace them with the newly issued ‘Hitlerjugend’ cuff titles. This order does not apply to men attached to the division only temporarily.
