This rare 9 x 12 inch, 268-page hardcover book in very nice condition comes with its original, damaged dust jacket. It was written by Hans Roden with the help of numerous military experts and published in 1935 by Breitkopf und Hartel Verlag in Leipzig, Germany. This book is one of the finest original Third Reich books on the German armed forces! It starts with the soldiers who fought for Germany in World War One, continues with Freikorps and Reichswehr to Adolf Hitlers new Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Reichskriegsmarine. The book is heavily illustrated with 250 photos. There are rare Freikorps and Reichswehr photos as well as many photos showing all branches of the new Wehrmacht and the Reichs-Kriegsmarine (Nazi Navy). The steel helmet on the front cover is embossed.
