RARE ORIGINAL 1936 PORCELAIN OLYMPIC BELL BERLIN BY KPM

THE ONLY TIME WE HAVE SEEN ONE IN THE ORIGINAL BOX

This fantastic item is a correct replica of the Olympic Bell at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin where the 11th Olympic Summer Games took place in 1936. Along the bottom it says: ‘Ich rufe die Jugend der Welt’ (I am calling the youth of the world) and ’11. Olympische Spiele Berlin’ (11th Olympic Games Berlin). Along the center part of the bell are the dates 1 -16 August, on the opposite site the year 1936, also the Brandenburg Gate and an eagle holding the Olympic Rings. The total height is about 5 inches; the lower diameter is 4 inches. The porcelain bell-clapper is also present but a small piece at the top broke off. The bell itself has no chips or cracks; this scarce item is in as-new condition! The souvenir bell comes with the often-missing black painted wooden stand, and, in this case, it even comes in the original box which we have never seen before in all the years. The bell was made by the Königliche Porzellanmanufaktur (KPM or Royal Porcelain Maker) in Berlin, the top maker of high-quality porcelain and china in Germany then and now. A fantastic historic artifact from the Olympic Summer Games that took place 90 years ago in Hitler’s Berlin. The original bell survived and is on display in front of the Olympic Stadium in Berlin (see photo).
