Offered for sale is a rare original poster as it was pasted onto the “Litfaßsäulen” (Advertisement Pillars or Billboards) in Nazi German towns and cities as well as in the occupied territories! There was no Facebook, no internet, no I-Pod or advertising through television at that time and these kind of posters where besides the People’s Radio and the Wochenschau in the movie theaters the way to bring news to the people. This poster was published in March 1941 by the NSDAP Gau (district) leadership of Linz (formerly Austria), the Gau where Adolf Hitler grew up, printed by the NSDAP owned publishing house in Linz. The spots on the photos are reflections from the protective Mylar, the poster itself is in excellent condition. It is a call-up to the German women and girls for voluntary support work to ensure the German victory. Millions of German women and girls stepped in and did the jobs of the men who were fighting in the German armed forces. From March 23 to March 29 of 1941 the NSDAP Ortsgruppe Linz tried to get females from this district to sign up for voluntary service. A very interesting poster with historical important content in excellent condition. The poster is NOT laminated, it has merely been placed between two sheets of Mylar to protect it from damage. It will slide out of the envelope or you could cut one edge and fold the top sheet back, to lift the broadside away. The size of this poster is 33 x 23-1/4 inch. It is in excellent condition and will look great when framed.
