RARE 1938 PHOTO BOOK ON THE MARTYRS OF THE NAZI MOVEMENT
GEDENKHALLE FÜR DIE GEFALLENEN DES DRITTEN REICHES
(MEMORIAL HALL FOR THE FALLEN OF THE THIRD REICH)
This sought after 7 x 10 inch, 240-page hardcover book by Hans Weberstedt and Kurt Langner was first published in 1935 by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, Franz Eher. Nachf. in Munich. Offered here is a near mint copy of the 1938 third edition which comes with its original, undamaged dust jacket. The heavily illustrated book is a tribute to the early Nazi Party members who gave their lives in the so called Kampfjahre (Fight Years) 1923 to 1933. Hundreds were killed by the Communist enemy, the first one was one of Hitler’s earliest followers, Dr. Karl Winter – a highly decorated World War One veteran who was stabbed and died in February of 1923. This very interesting book contains hundreds of stories of fallen NSDAP, SA and SS members, many of them with photos of the martyr and/or his funeral, often accompanied by newspaper or Police reports. The authors had the help of the Gau leaderships as well as from the families of the victims to put this extraordinary book together.
