This Iron Cross 2nd Class with Spange is a very appealing pair of awards, for a soldier decorated in both World Wars. The 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class is a great example, with crisp detail. The cross shows light to no wear, and nearly all of the original, glossy black enamel paint finish remains on the core, with no freckling.  The frame of the cross has beautiful, desirable toning. The original (marked? – see photo) suspension ring is intact, and retains a full length of clean, original black and white award ribbon. This ribbon has been adorned with a 1939 second class Spange. The Spange is marked on reverse L 11 or 77, one small hole in ribbon on back.  All in all, a difficult to locate set in excellent condition.
