This DAF Wall Plaque is an impressive display object. It features the organizational emblem of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, the German national labor union during the Third Reich. It is made of aluminum, and measures about eight inches in diameter. This plaque is in the form of a boldly rendered mobile swastika, surrounded by a toothed wheel. The swastika has a heavy outline, within which are a series of grooves. These grooves retain virtually all of the original black enamel painted finish, giving the swastika an eye-catching look. The rest of the plaque is bare aluminum, with smooth surfaces. It shows only a very nice, light patina throughout, with no significant marks or damage to note. The reverse of this DAF Wall Plaque is unmarked, as is typical for these, and has an uncleaned patina. This handsome plaque is a great representative example of an emblem that decorated many German factories during the war years. The condition of this one is excellent.
