A NAZI NOVEL BASED ON THE TRUE STORY OF HITLER YOUTH BOY HERBERT NORKUS WHO WAS KILLED BY THE COMMUNISTS IN BERLIN ONE YEAR BEFORE THE NATIONAL SOCIALIST SEIZURE OF POWER
This book, written by K.A. Schenzinger and first published in December 1932 is a book that was almost mandatory to read for every Hitler Youth boy in Hitler-Germany. It is a novel based on the true story of a Hitler Youth boy, Herbert Norkus, who lived in the Beusselkietz, a working-class district in Berlin. He had a Communist father but was a member of the Hitler Youth. He was killed by the Commies and just like Horst Wessel he became a martyr of the National Socialist movement. Hitlerjunge Quex was also made into a movie in 1933, subtitled “Ein Film vom Opfergeist der deutschen Jugend (Hitler Youth Quex: A film about the sacrificial spirit of German youth)”, directed by Hans Steinhoff and written by Bobby E. Lüthge and K.A. Schenzinger. A copy of this book belongs in every collection of historical Third Reich Hitler Youth material. Offered here is a nice hardcover edition from around 1938.
