Offered for sale is this original (around 1935) tin/sheet metal windup Lineol Horch Kübelwagen WH-6573 that is hand-painted in military camouflage and has 4 composite Lineol soldiers and a canopy top. This piece was manufactured by Lineol. We have seen this also referred to as “Wanderer Kübelwagen mit Besatzung” or a “Horch Kubelwagen”. It has a license plate that shows “WH-6573” on the front and rear. The canopy while very fragile is still intact and goes up and down. There are four Lineol/Elastolin composite figures. The windscreens are still intact but are yellowed with age, 2 spare wheels, folding top, 2 direction indicators, steerable front wheels, rifle rack (with one rifle missing), 1 banner, 4 Lineol soldier figures, electric headlights, length 9-7/8 inches. The battery wiring harness was not tested. The windup seems to be intact but not tested, with no key included. The black rubber tires are marked “Lineol” on the sides and are still intact, but as per usual with toys of this age, they may have petrified, discolored, warped, and/or cracked. The wheels roll as they should. The passenger’s side flag is missing. This original 1930’s toy is in all original condition with the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories (such as the second rifle and key), and wear that is to be expected from age and play.
