This fantastic book by Erna Lendvai-Dircksen was first published in 1937 by Gauverlag Bayreuth (Richard Wagners hometown – Hitlers favorite composer), Germany. The copy offered for sale is a copy of the 2nd edition which was published five(!) years later in 1942. The 7-1/2 x 10-1/2 inch, 120-page hardcover book does not only contain great photos (ALL FULL PAGE PHOTOS) of one of the biggest building projects in Adolf Hitler’s Greater German Reich, the REICHSAUTOBAHN but also all the different people who worked on the building sites from the Baltic Sea up north down to the Alps in the south of the Reich. All in all 96 photos from different Reichsautobahn building sites, happy ‘Aryan’ workers and the finished product: the wonderful Autobahn that created thousands of jobs in the early 1930s and which was one of the masterpieces of the Organisation Todt (OT) but which was also a big advantage for the Allies towards the end of World War II as they could move forward quickly on Hitler’s motorways!
A great addition for anyone’s collection of rare historical Third Reich material. Except a minor damage at the spine very good condition.
