50 ISSUES 2nd YEAR 1932 OF THE ANTI JEW, COMMUNISTS, SOCIALISTS NAZI PERIODICAL
‘DIE BRENNESSEL’
THE HEAVILY ILLUSTRATED PROPAGANDA PAPER WAS PUBLISHED BY THE NSDAP PUBLISHING HOUSE FRANZ EHER
Brennessel (stinging nettle) was the official Nazi satiric magazine, published from 1931 to 1938 by Verlag Franz Eher, Nachf. In Munich, the publishing house of the Nazi party. The periodical contained Nazi propaganda against Jews, Communists, Socialists as well as against the Weimar government. Many of the striking illustrations were done by Hans Schweitzer, Goebbels’ artist from Berlin, who worked under the pen name ‘Mjölnir’ (Thor’s hammer). He became Hitler’s favorite poster artist. The circulation of this periodical never was that great, declined steadily during the Nazi era until it finally ceased publication. Single issues are getting harder to find, especially the early years. Offered here are the following fifty (50) issues, all from 1932, the second year of publication: 1 – 28, 30-35 and 37-52. In 1931 only 30 issues were published, from 1932 to it became a weekly publication with 52 issues per year, meaning that there are only two issues missing to make this the complete year 1932. All are complete but show signs of wear along the edges and a few have separated covers. A rare lot for anyone’s collection of early NSDAP history, Nazi anti-Semitism and anti-Bolshevism!
