ORIGINAL 1940 PHOTO BOOK FORCED ABORTION & STERILIZATION IN HITLER-GERMANY
Richtlinien für die Schwangerschaftsunterbrechung und Unfruchtbarmachung aus gesundheitlichen Gründen
(GUIDELINES FOR ABORTION AND STERILIZATION DUE TO HEALTH REASONS)
THIS PUBLICATION EXPLAINS IN DETAIL HOW TO APPLY THE NAZI LAWS FROM 1935 THAT REGULATED THE PREVENTION OF HEREDITARY DISEASE
This 7 x 10 inch hardcover book in nice condition has 186 very interesting pages with close to 100 photos and illustrations. It explains like no other book we have seen how the National Socialists regulated the interruption of the pregnancy and sterilization of those women who could give birth to hereditary diseased children. The Nazi law that prevented that mentally ill or otherwise disabled children would be born (and cause a financial and racial burden for the rest of the German population) was passed on 18 July 1935. Based on this law the “Euthanasia” program was launched in the Third Reich. The book was first published in 1936 by order of the Reich Chamber of the German doctors and printed by Lehmanns Verlag in Munich, Germany. Offered for sale is a copy of the 1940 edition.
