1940 ILLUSTRATED FIRST READING BOOK w NATIONAL SOCIALIST CONTENT FOR THE RHINELAND

‘DIE LUSTIGE RHEINFIBEL’

This 6-1/2 x 9 inch, 80-page soft cover book was first published in 1938 by L. Schwann Verlag in Düsseldorf for the first and second graders in the Rhine River region, Germany. Offered here is a nice copy of the revised 2nd edition, published in 1940. It is heavily illustrated and has a lot of National Socialist content. The binding is tight, it shows signs of wear as can be expected, but no pages are missing or are damaged. A great example on the indoctrination of even the youngest members of National Socialist Germany and, since it was only for students in the Rheinland region, a seldom seen book.
