This is a nice original copy of the official 1941 phone book for the city of Hamburg. Some damage to the cover but mostly intact and a miracle that it has survived at all, considering how badly Hamburg was destroyed in the Allied bombing campaign ‘Operation Gomorrah’ from July 24 to August 3, 1943 which caused a horrible firestorm that killed an estimated 40,000 people and destroyed much of the city.
