‘STUTTGART – DIE STADT DER AUSLANDSDEUTSCHEN’
The 8-1/2 x 10-3/4 inch box contains 15 photographs by Paul Hommel and a four pages foreword by Gauleiter August Lammle. The photos show different views of Stuttgart, the city of the Germans abroad. In 1917 Kaiser Wilhelm II. founded the Deutsches Auslandsinstitut as the central agency for the thirty million Germans who lived abroad. The institute also contained a museum with 37 rooms where the culture of the Germans in foreign countries was displayed. To honor the city Adolf Hitler officially declared Stuttgart the “Stadt der Auslandsdeutschen” (City Of Germans Abroad). The box and the photo tables are in very good condition.
