SS-OBERGRUPPENFÜHRER REINHARD HEYDRICH

SENT OUT TO A LONG LIST OF NAZI LEACDERS THROUGHOUT THE REICH AND THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

REGARDING THE USE OF PASSPORTS IN THE PROTECTORATE BOHEMIA & MORAVIA

Offered for sale is a very interesting original double sided document, signed by SS-Ober-gruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich and sent out to a long list of Nazi officials. There is also a Himmler signature on the front but it was not Himmler himself who signed it but his adjutant. The receipients of this secret Express Letter were the presidents of the States (i.e. Berlin, Saarpfalz, Franconia), the Reichskommissar for the Saar region, he Police president of Berlin, the Reichsstatthalter in Vienna, Niederdonau, Linz, Graz, Salzburg and Tirol, the Regierungspraesidenten of Danzig, Bromberg, Posen, Litzmannstadt (Lodz in occupied Poland, a city with one of the largest Jewish ghettos), Warthegau, Sudetengau as well as Bavaria. The letter is a follow-up of Heydrich's order from January 1940 regarding the regulations about the use of German passports in the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia as the German occupied Czechoslovakia was called. Heydrich was deputy Reichs-protekor until his assassination and death in 1942.

Both, document and Heydrich signature are guaranteed to be authentic.

The signature in green pencil is NOT Heinrich Himmler's original signature. It was signed by his adjutant. It was (and is) a common practice that secretaries or adjutants sign(ed) documents for their superiors, otherwise they would be busy signing documents all day.

The document bears a number of stamps and handwritten notes, confirming the receipt. A 'Schnellbrief' is a kind of telegram, the difference is that it is written like a regular letter and, at least in this case, distributed to more than just one receipient.
