antisemitic postcard

FROM THE GERMAN ISLAND BORKUM WHICH ALREADY REPORTED IN THE 1920'S TO BE "JUDENFREI" (MEANING THAT NO JEWS LIVED THERE ANYMORE!

This excellent postcard from the German island Borkum in the North Sea has a very "patriotic" song, called the Borkum-Lied (Borkum song) printed on one side, together with two illustrations. The one on the left symbolizes the people of Borkum, living together in harmony, etc. - the picture on the right shows a family of Jews who would like to join but who are not allowed to enter! This postcard is either from the 1920's or the Third Reich period, it does not have a date on it but the Nazi periodical "Illustrierter Beobachter" once mentioned in an article that the island Borkum was already "Judenfrei" in the 1920s! "Judenfrei" means that this community got rid of all their Jews. And the people of Borkum were proud that no Jew was able to enjoy the beautiful beaches of this island!

"Sorry! But those who come with flat feet and Jewish nose --- they have to leave!"
